Super Seniors Trophy
an inter-club competition sponsored by Men’s Golf Club
Elm Park Golf & Sports Club

An Elm Park member, previously an active inter-club golfer but now approaching 70 years of age, suggested to the Men’s Golf Committee (MGC) that Elm Park might sponsor a competitive inter-club competition for men over 70 who would enjoy being competitive again this time against others in the same age grouping. The MGC accepted his proposal and launched such a competition.
And so, the Super Seniors Trophy competition began.

Starting in 2012, it continues to be played in Scotch-Foursomes format on a league basis with five pairs in a team. Qualifying teams move into knockout stages until the remaining two Clubs meet in a Final match played in Elm Park. A Presentation Dinner for the teams and their Club Officers is hosted by Elm Park that evening.

Eight South Dublin clubs, including Elm Park, took part in the inaugural event with Dun Laoghaire defeating Newlands in the Final. Year by year the number of participating clubs has steadily increased such that by 2026 the entry had grown to over 50 clubs from all over Leinster. The latest winner being Castlewarden Golf Club who defeated Woodenbridge in the 2025 Final.

Participation is open to all Leinster golf clubs and new entrants will always be welcomed.
